The surface of the toner cartridge is aging, causing abnormal printing

An HPLaserJet1320 printer in a friend's office showed an abnormality when printing. The printed handwriting was not only blurred, but also accompanied by a white horizontal line, so that the author can help.

Since the machine is a laser printer, the author first judges the lack of ink, so open the top cover of the printer, carefully take out the toner cartridge, then shake it laterally, then install the toner cartridge, and start printing. This is not the case. Blurred, but the horizontal line still exists. Did the toner cartridge reach the end of its life? After inquiring a friend, the machine was purchased in 2006, and the toner cartridge should be replaced according to the unit printing frequency and the number of prints. So the author and friends went to the electronic market to buy a toner cartridge, which solved the problem. However, in order to understand the specific cause of the malfunction of the machine, the author went online for help, and saved the toner cartridge back under the guidance of a master. I first purchased some chromium oxide, sandwiched the defatted cotton sputum with medical tweezers, and then wiped it twice in a direction along the drum axis. After the reagent is dried, the printer is installed, the fault disappears completely, and the printer returns to its previous state.

The machine's fault point is the abnormal printing failure caused by the aging of the drum surface. The surface layer of the fatigued photosensitive drum is removed with chromium oxide to expose the photosensitive surface that has not yet aged, so that the printer can print normally. Be careful when wiping, avoid scratching the drum film, and rubbing the film to make the drum fade.

The toner cartridge is generally composed of an aluminum tube and a photosensitive material, and its surface is generally composed of three layers of materials, and some special toner cartridges have 4 to 5 layers on the surface. In addition to the first three layers of the ordinary toner cartridge, the fourth and fifth layers are designed to protect the photosensitive layer to ensure the long life of the toner cartridge.
