Japan Paper is committed to developing green packaging and printing paper

As people pay more and more attention to environmental protection and the continuous development of printing technology, printing and packaging papers have been continuously updated. At present, many packaging and papermaking industries in Japan have developed and produced green packaging printing papers, which has enriched the green packaging product market.

Japan's Nippon Paper Co., Ltd. has developed and produced fully deep-stamped papers that use natural fibers as raw materials under the name “Npimold Paper”, and its stretchability is 5-10 times that of plain paper. The stamping paper can press texturing, patterns and three-dimensional curved surfaces when molding, similar to the processing of plastic products, and smoothing the convex image can achieve better sealing. The product can be produced by using the current plastic product equipment and molding according to the design scheme. Because it does not require heating and softening before processing, it can increase production efficiency and save energy.

Challenge Five Co., Ltd. introduced biodegradable films and envelopes produced by Mit Subishi. The film and letter are also produced from polylactic acid extracted from corn starch and can be offset printed using soy ink “Naturalis”, which is very popular in the packaging and printing industry.

Dynic Co., Ltd. develops biodegradable flexible sheet "Au Pair Corn Sheet" using cornstarch and fatty polyester as raw materials. The goal is to eventually replace PVC. This material is easy to machine and cut, easy to print, and its thickness can be adjusted according to the requirements. Landfill disposal does not pollute the environment. Because of the low calorific value during incineration, no toxic substances such as dioxins are produced, so it is less harmful to the environment.

Recently, Takasaki Paper Co. of Japan used pomace discarded from the food industry to produce pomace packaging paper. The method used was to remove the seeds in the pomace and pulverize them, and then add appropriate wood fiber packaging paper. This kind of paper product is easily decomposed after use, can be burned or composted, and does not pollute the environment. It is an ideal paper for food packaging and can be recycled for paper making.

A paper that uses all wood and pulp as raw materials without adding any synthetic resin and can be directly pressed into packaging containers has been developed by the Japanese paper company. This new type of paper is 5 to 10 times more stretchable than normal paper. If a special metal mold is used, it can be directly pressed into various shapes of paper packaging containers. The paper packaging container has the same strength as the plastic packaging container and can be used for packaging daily necessities and foods. The production cost of the paper packaging container is not only low but also can be recycled. It is reported that the successful development of the paper can replace plastic packaging containers and will also open up a huge market.
