Located at 1,675 meters above sea level, Mount Thor or Thor Peak is located in Auyuittuq National Park, in the province of Nunavut, Canada. In 1953, a mountaineering team consisting of team members Hans Weber, J Rothlisberger and F. Schwarzenbach from the Arctic Institute of North America made their first summit to Sol.
In 2004, Philip Robinson, a 26-year-old patrol officer at the Uytec National Park in Canada, attempted to take down in Sauer, but was killed because of the failure of the rope drop system.
On July 23, 2006, a team consisting of Chuck Constable, Dirk Siron, Ben Holley, Kenneth Waite, Gordon Rosser, Donny Opperman, Deldon Barfuss, and Tim Hudson from the United States created the longest distance rope on the west wall of Sol. Falling world record.
