Synthetic resin container with high gas barrier performance

This is a synthetic resin container (eg, a polyester bottle) that can be used for food and beverage packaging, and has a coating on the inner or outer surface of the main body, and this coating has high gas barrier properties. This coating film is composed of at least one organic silicon compound layer which is arranged on the wall surface of the container main body and contains elements such as nitrogen, silicon, carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, and an oxysilicon compound layer mainly containing silicon oxide. This coating is formed by plasma chemical vapor deposition.
