According to the latest report of the Financial Times, Apple is working on the development of a new software platform that will make the iPhone a remote control that can control lights, security systems, and other appliances. The iOS ecosystem is of course able to connect a range of home accessories and appliances, such as Phillips' Hue WiFi bulbs and iPhone-controlled appliances. The report said that Apple will release a software platform for controlling smart homes with the iPhone at the next WWDC conference, and design a new platform for manufacturers.
