We must deal with this before discarding courier bags

In today's era of e-commerce, parcel delivery has become as common as eating and sleeping. However, with each delivery, the recipient’s name, address, and phone number are exposed, leading to serious privacy concerns. Many people have resorted to covering up important details with thick black pens or even shredding the packages before throwing them away. Recently, a clever tip was shared online: spraying dew on the delivery slip makes the handwriting disappear. Is this really effective? The so-called "secret weapons" for erasing personal information include essential oils, toothpaste, clear water, and even toilet water. This trend has gone viral on the internet, with users sharing photos showing the results of "erasing words." Toilet water, in particular, has gained popularity as a "secret tool." Netizens joked, “Six gods, oh my god!” To test the effectiveness, we conducted an experiment. We sprayed toilet water on a delivery slip, and the writing gradually faded within about ten seconds. We also tried wiping the text with a paper towel soaked in water and toothpaste. Although both methods worked, they were slower—taking around half a minute with toothpaste and longer with water. The paper also tended to get damaged during the process. Some people suggested using wind spirit (a type of alcohol-based solvent), so we tested it next. The result was impressive—the handwriting disappeared almost instantly, within just two seconds. Based on our tests, the order of effectiveness is: Wind Spirit > Toilet Water > Toothpaste > Clear Water. But why does this work? We consulted Li Haoran, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Chemical Society and a doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University. He explained that delivery slips are made of pressure-sensitive paper containing colorless dyes and developing agents. When written on with a pen, the dye reacts with the agent to produce visible ink. Most of these inks can be dissolved by organic solvents. Toilet water and wind spirit contain alcohols like ethanol and butanediol, which are organic solvents. These dissolve the dyes on the delivery slip, causing the writing to fade over time. "Ballpoint pens and other inks that are oil-based can also be dissolved by these solvents," he added. However, carbon-based inks, such as those from some permanent markers, are not affected. Interestingly, alcohol itself can also work. Perfume, for example, contains mostly water, but also organic compounds that can dissolve ink. While it works, the effect isn’t as strong as wind spirit. Meanwhile, toothpaste and water also work due to their surfactant content. Surfactants have hydrophilic and hydrophobic ends, allowing them to mix oil and water. This helps break down the ink on the slip. Other household items like laundry detergent or soapy water can also be used as substitutes. So, before discarding your delivery slip, consider spraying it with wind spirit or toilet water to protect your privacy. It’s a simple and effective way to keep your personal information safe! Shank of nails:

Smooth Shank Nails: There are no deformations on the shank, making nails with a smooth shank the easiest to drive.Smooth shank nails offer the least pull-out resistance whencompared with spiral and ring shanks.

Concrete Nails: It is manufactured from ductile, high strength carbon steel and designed for hand hammer driving into medium strength concrete and solid block.

Spiral Shank: A spiral ''thread" on the shank causes thenail to spin during installation, creating a thread-like interlockwith the wood, which increases withdrawal capacity.Spiral-shank nails are designed to drive easier into harderwoods and dense materials while still providing increasedwithdrawal resistance.
