International Recycling Information Agency Announces Report on Recycling Waste Paper Market in the Third Quarter of this Year

The International Recycling Resource Agency announced the report of the recycling waste paper market in the third quarter of this year. In addition to the large number of mixed waste papers in the markets of the Baltic countries, the remaining stocks are very low and the prices are low. The development trend of most waste paper collections is still good, but the recycling of used newspapers and scrapbooks in bulk has been affected.

In the Czech Republic, except for the price drop of waste newspapers and newspapers, which fell by 10-15%, the sales of other varieties remained stable in the third quarter, with little change in prices. The market is balanced and there is no increase in stocks. The demand for waste magazines exported to Germany is high.

Finland - Stable trends are a characteristic of the country's market, although in the next few months the production plant may be able to stop plantation initiatives, and overall, the demand for waste paper by various production plants is still good. The supply of waste paper was good, and its collection was once reduced by seasonal influence. It has now begun to return to normal, but overall, waste paper collection has been slow to develop in recent years. In the third quarter, the import volume of waste paper was small, and the export volume of waste paper also remained at a relatively low level.

France: Demand for waste paper remained stable at the end of September, and demand for waste newspapers and magazines was particularly strong. The paperboard manufacturers are neither optimistic nor pessimistic about the trend of their product demand. In the third quarter, paper production declined. In July and August of the traditional holidays, the production volume remained normal in July. Compared with the same period of last year, production volume fell by 25% in August and no changes were observed in September. Due to the continued strong demand in Asia, there was no backlog of paper products and recycled waste paper stocks, and the domestic market was not affected.

Germany - Although supply increased due to seasonal relations in September, due to slower economic steps, there was a reduction in futures sources compared to last year. In particular, the demand for used recycled paper and waste paper for deinked pulp was excessive, resulting in supply shortages. The export price is too high. Because domestic and foreign markets are very popular with deinking pulp, the use of waste miscellaneous papers is being speeded up.

There were more holidays in the third quarter and cardboard sales were active in the earlier period. However, due to the slowdown in economic trends, consumption decreased again, and the waste paper market was also affected. The demand for used recycled paper and waste paper for deinked pulp outshines the election, while other major varieties are falling. The downturn in the pulp market has had little impact on the prices of certain high-grade waste paper, and its demand has remained stable.

Italy - The domestic waste paper stocks have been reduced by a large amount. The inventory of waste paper, corrugated Cardboard Boxes, and commodity packaging boxes after various elections is very low, and the demand exceeds the supply. Resulting in a 10% increase in price. However, this situation does not mean that the market situation has improved, but that all the waste paper stocks are decreasing. In fact, there are few orders for all packing board manufacturers, and their sales prices will inevitably suffer. With the sudden rise in the price of waste paper, in order to avoid greater losses, each production plant may have to stop the plant for a period of time to reduce production. The price of waste paper in the United States has gradually increased. Due to the low and stable shipping costs, Italy has accelerated its export of waste paper, and its supply and demand for domestic waste paper is still balanced.

Netherlands - The weakening of the domestic economy, coupled with the shrinking circulation of newspapers, magazines and magazines in the summer break holidays, resulted in a significant reduction in the amount of recycled waste paper. Inventories of waste paper makers have fallen. As factories in China have taken measures to stop factories, the prices have been suppressed. The lower sea freight rates coupled with the demand for waste paper throughout the summer in the Far East, especially China, have increased exports. However, after the terrorist attacks in the United States, considering that the 40-foot container rental may be increased to 600 US dollars, many waste paper companies do not want to send goods to the Far East. According to estimates by industry insiders, the price of waste paper may rise in October. However, it is quite difficult to predict what the future trend will be.

Spain - The price of waste paper in the previous two months is still stable, reflecting the lower production of waste paper. However, the supply of bulk products has not been reduced. The stocks in the hands of various paper mills are in medium-high levels, and the amount of inventories held by waste paper recyclers is moderate. Since prices have not changed since July, when the amount of waste paper produced in the fourth quarter of this year has increased, the possibility of price fluctuations is not ruled out. The inventory of waste paper used for deinking pulp is very low and demand is good. Each paper mill is imported from France and the United Kingdom. Despite the sluggish price of raw pulp, the various types of waste paper used in the pulp production trend remained strong, with prices rising slightly in the third quarter. The paper mills received very few orders, and prices of various webs followed a slight drop. The amount of waste paper produced was reduced, and the inventory was decreasing day by day.

Turkey - With the economic downturn, waste paper collection has decreased, paper mills have received orders, and demand for various waste papers has also become weaker. However, orders for corrugated paperboard and cardboard mills have been slightly improved. Due to seasonal factors, the demand for used corrugated cardboard boxes and used mixed papers is expected to increase slightly. Due to the exchange rate, the price of imported waste paper increased, but due to the drop of waste paper inventory, the domestic waste paper was insufficient, and the amount of imported waste paper may increase.
The reduction in the circulation of newspapers and periodicals caused a shortage of used newspapers and brochures. At the same time, the amount of packaging paper produced using such waste paper is increasing, and thus the price of waste paper has also increased. At present, the waste paper stocks of various paper mills are still normal, and it is expected that the quantity of stocks will increase in the future. The demand for high-grade waste paper is relatively stable, and the inventory of each paper mill has dropped slightly. Perhaps the demand will increase, but in the short term, the price will not change.

In the United Kingdom, domestic consumption fell by 7% in the third quarter. The number of orders received by the paper mills was not enough, and some factories had to stop their factories. However, the waste paper prices in the Far East and the European continent are generally higher than those in the domestic market, and the demand for most types of waste paper is good, so the export trend is strong. As a result, waste paper exporters have reduced stocks in their hands, and most domestic paper mills have insufficient reserves in their hands. If this situation continues, out-of-stock will occur, which may have an impact on domestic waste paper prices.

The United States - After the terrorist attacks in the country, it is difficult to predict the development of its waste paper market. The number of waste paper produced in the third quarter was lower than the normal level in the year, partly because the price was too low. In addition, domestic consumption of waste paper was generally sluggish. In the first seven months of this year, the export volume of waste paper was 6.188 million tons, an increase of 7%. Shipments of used waste paper were 1.954 million tons, an increase of 18%. The waste corrugated cardboard box was 1.78 million tons, an increase of 15%. The old newspapers and periodicals were rather stable, but the volume of paper pulp used for substitute pulp was 318,409 tons, a decrease of 15%. The high-grade deinking pulp used paper was 632,885 tons, down 5%. The number of exports to China and India has increased, but other market relations with the United States have decreased. Recently, foreign demand for its waste newspapers and magazines remained strong, while demand for its used corrugated cardboard boxes declined. Due to the recent sudden increase in container freight rates by shipping companies, their export prospects have been greatly affected.
