Rapid development of China's plastics industry

China's plastics industry has been developing rapidly in recent decades, especially in the past 20 years of reform and opening up, the plastics industry (including plastics synthesis and auxiliaries and additives, plastic processing machinery and molds, plastics processing and application, etc.) The achievements that have attracted world attention have seen the average annual growth rate higher than the total growth rate of the national economy, reaching more than 10%.
At the recent press conference held at the 2002 Chinaplas Exhibition, Liao Authentic, Chairman of China National Association of Plastics Industry and Industry, briefed the reporter on the status quo and development of China's plastics industry.
Liao said that in 2001, the output of China's plastic products reached 20 million tons, ranking second in the world. The total processing capacity of 6230 enterprises in the country has far exceeded 20 million tons. Exports are increasing year by year, and exports are much larger than imports.
China's synthetic resin industry built the first PVC resin production facility in Jinzhou in 1958, and it has gone through a rapid development process from scratch and from small to large. In the world, the major producers of synthetic resins are already close to Japan, which ranks second, and it is basically the same as Germany, the third country.
China is the country with the largest production and use of farmland membranes. Coverage of agricultural land has reached more than 200 million mu and the actual consumption of agricultural land membranes has exceeded 1.1 million tons, ranking first in the world. Over 3.5 million tons of plastic packaging materials have accounted for more than 18% of the total output of plastic products. It is the fastest growing field in the plastics industry. The total demand for plastic pipes and profiles exceeds one million tons per year.
Liao Authentic pointed out that in the first quarter of this year, the production of plastic products is still in a steady growth trend. From the completion of several major economic and technical indicators, it has increased compared to the same period of last year.
China's plastic machinery and molds At present, almost all middle and low-grade molding molds and 60% of high-end, large-scale, complex, and sophisticated molds can be used to solve production in China, but the import volume of molding machines in the future is still quite large.
For more than 10 years, the National Plastics Product Standardization Committee has systematically organized and revised national and industrial standards. More than 200 national and international standards for plastic products have been formulated, and the proportion of international standards and foreign advanced standards is more than 50%. It has effectively promoted the development of China's plastics industry.
According to the Montreal Protocol, China should assume corresponding obligations to gradually phase out ODS. Before 2010, the use of CFCS was completely stopped in the production of foam plastic PS/PE extruded plastic sheets and polyurethane foam (PU).
China's plastics industry has gradually formed a relatively complete industrial system, and has become a new material industry along with steel, cement, and timber. China has entered the ranks of the world's largest plastic products, it can be said that China's plastics enterprises have a certain strength to participate in International competition, facing the future, the situation is gratifying.
