CTP and CTCP technologies are an inevitable result of printing industry technology and digital development. In recent years, its development has been advancing by leaps and bounds. The popularity of direct plate-making technology has become a general trend. Speaking of this, I remembered that I attended the CTP conference at the Guangzhou Garden Hotel ten years ago. I am very excited, feel very fresh, very eager, and at the same time there are some doubts. The desire for CTP technology is because I have been a plate-making apprentice since the late 1970s. I have worked in a hand-made traditional edition room for more than ten years. , Working very hard. For example, an imposition worker has to work for more than ten hours a day, but he has no way to sit, and has been bending over to work until work, so I know it by watching. Now the shoulder height is occupational disease, and my master is the same. The printing is also very hard and stressful, and I am afraid of virtual light, especially drying the net. Each film has to judge how much time it takes to dry. Film is uneven. It is not so easy to print a version. It is necessary to control the size of the dots. The printing department cannot catch the color. , So I heard the concept of CTP, I am very happy, that is my dream, so that it will not be so hard by hand. For the suspicion, it was digital proofing, which was impossible to understand at the time, and it was impossible to think. Because different papers, different inks, different machines, how is it possible? I didn't fully understand it until I used it. Because of the software support, the simulation is very similar. Digital proofing is very mature now. Zhongbian Printing Factory can achieve an average value of â–³ E0.6, and the printing can basically follow the digital proofing. The invention of CTP was a great revolution in printing. Our consumers enjoy stable quality and exquisite prints, and they also have a credit for it.

CTP and CTCP are both computer-to-plate technology. The obvious difference between the two is the plate material. But both have the following common features, both of which have brought obvious improvement to our production efficiency and quality.

As far as thermal CTP is concerned, the current market is very mature and stable, and many printing companies have already used it and are constantly expanding. As far as CTCP is concerned, it has not been as popular as CTP because of its short-term market launch. But the degree of concern is getting higher and higher. The reason for this may be due to the impact of the recent financial tsunami, rising raw materials and labor costs, and the continuous appreciation of the renminbi, especially the impact of the financial tsunami. Bringing a lot of pressure to enterprises, improving production efficiency and reducing production costs is an important way for enterprises to develop. Everyone thinks about the advantages of CTCP in the plate material. Because the obvious feature of CTCP is the use of traditional PS plates, which are much cheaper than thermal CTP plates, and printing houses are also familiar with PS plates.

Below I would like to share with you some of the experiences of using CTCP in the past two years:

Before the introduction of CTCP, we were also very cautious and conducted a visit and research to learn more about the application performance of CTCP. When CTCP first arrived at the factory, we were also worried about how the traditional version compares to the quality of the thermal version? Our worries are not unreasonable. We encountered some problems in the process of using, fortunately all of them were solved one by one.

The first problem encountered is a plate problem (not a machine problem). Because a traditional PS version that has been in use by Chinese editors for many years at that time, it is very stable to print with a traditional exposure printing machine. However, when this PS version is published on a CTCP machine, problems occur: speed It is very slow to open 8-10 sheets every hour; the developed version is a little clean and some is not clean. After comparing with the traditional PS version, it was found that the traditional Ps version usually needs to achieve a level 3 blanking with a traditional drying machine, and even needs a level 4 blanking. The laser power of the CTCP is not as good as the power of the traditional printing machine, so the CTCP machine can only achieve level 1 blanking to ensure the speed (may also be its advantage). When using the traditional PS version to reduce the time when encountering a weak network during the printing process, it is at most level 2 off, so that it will not be dirty. But it is the first problem before us to stably achieve the first-level interruption without getting dirty, and the speed is fast. In order to solve the problem, after getting the Fuji PS version for trial, some dirty and speed problems were solved. That's it, and l% of the outlets are in line, and 99% of the outlets are not blurred, from 8-10 sheets per hour to 14 folios.

The second problem is the characteristic of the CTCP machine. In the case of Linear, 50% outlets can only achieve 47-48%, because we use the CTP system to make One Bit documents and send them to the CTCP machine for publication. The already prepared G7 curve is directly published, and then we came up with a method to write down a piece of data in the case of Linear with a density meter, write down the data for each point, and compare it with the curve that has been made. Calculate the error value and generate a new curve for publishing. Using curve compensation to solve this problem, the results are very good.

The third problem I encountered was that after using CTCP for more than a week, the speed gradually slowed down. After the engineer wipes the exposure unit, there is no problem. However, it is troublesome to maintain the exposure unit once every 2 weeks. After studying with CTCP engineers and Fuji engineers, we found out the root cause. It is found that when manufacturing traditional PS plates, considering that the printing needs to be sucked, the film and the plate are close to the exposure before exposure, so that the image can be restored to the zinc plate well. Added a very fine powder layer. But this very fine powder layer sticks to the CTCP exposure unit, so the speed will gradually slow down with time.

After graduate students, Fuji produced a PS plate material for the characteristics of CTCP and removed the powder layer on the surface to solve this problem. In this way, not only the exposure speed is faster, but the exposure power is reduced, and the publication speed is increased to 18 folios per hour, but it needs to work under the yellow light.

After two years of experience, I think that the traditional PS plate should be used steadily on the CTCP machine, which requires the plate speed to be fast and the plate coating to be uniform. These two conditions are met, there is no big problem. Now the CTCP machine can achieve a resolution of 2400dpi, the accuracy can meet the general basic requirements of printing, and can meet the requirements of printing companies to reduce costs.

Finally, to summarize, thermal CTP and CTCP have their own advantages, and each enterprise should choose a reasonable matching method according to its own situation. Since the millennium began to use thermal CTP in the new millennium, and now choose to use thermal CTP and CTCP at the same time, the two models complement each other to play their different effects.
