This "Lover Pavilion" 3D Print Art Exhibition is just the beginning of a deeper integration between creativity and innovation.
On September 13, 2015, the first 3D printing art exhibition in China, titled “Sky Pavilion,†opened at the Chengdu Museum of Contemporary Art. The event ran until October 11, 2015, and was hosted by the Chengdu Contemporary Art Museum and IMAKE Art Commune, with support from Chengdu Thinking Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. Curated by Lan Qingwei and Shi Yuling, the exhibition featured nine artists—Cai Liming, Ji Lei, Jiao Xingtao, Xue Song, Zhang Can, Zhang Xiaotao, Yin Jiulong, Zhao Nengzhi, and Zhou Bin—who created works centered around the theme of “The Castle in the Air.â€
This exhibition was a groundbreaking fusion of technology and art. By combining parametric design with 3D printing, artists transformed their sketches into three-dimensional models, offering a more vivid and interactive experience. They revised their initial drafts, ensured their ideas were fully realized, and even experienced the printing process firsthand.
